Pro 1:7 The fear of YHVH is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Isa 11:2 And the Spirit of YHVH shall rest on Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of YHVH.
It starts of from the outside in, Knowledge & Fear, then Counsel & Strength, and lastly Wisdom & Understanding. Knowledge & Fear is the basics of attaining Wisdom and Understanding and should not be taken lightly. You cannot fear YHVH if you do not know Him and you cannot know YHVH if you have not feared Him. To teach your children and infants in the faith is for them to attain knowledge about YHVH so that they will have a good understanding of Who He is and that will produce a Fear / Respect for Him.
Fear is the word "yirah" that means fear and reverence.
Reverence : Fear mingled with respect and esteem; veneration.
When quarrels and factions are carried openly, it is a sign that the reverence of government is lost.
The fear acceptable to YHVH, is a filial fear, an awful reverence of the divine nature, proceeding from a just esteem of his perfections, which produces in us an inclination to his service and an unwillingness to offend him.
Reverence is nearly equivalent to veneration, but expresses something less of the same emotion. It differs from awe, which is an emotion compounded of fear, dread or terror, with admiration of something great, but not necessarily implying love or affection. We feel reverence for a parent, and for an upright magistrate, but we stand in awe of a tyrant. This distinction may not always be observed.
Despise is the word "buz" that means; to disrespect, contemn, to despise; to consider and treat as mean and despicable; to scorn, to reject, to regard his own superiority or worth or belief rather higher than anybody else's.
Fools despise wisdom and instruction; they think their beliefs, knowledge and philosophies are superior to YHVH's instructions and wisdom. They think they are superior to YHVH's Authority and do not regard or submit to His Word or instructions. This is a very strong way to rebel against YHVH in every possible way and YHVH class them as fools whom are of this opinion.
The wise do the opposite; they regard YHVH's Word and His Wisdom and Instructions as the highest authority that makes Him the ultimate Authority and Author of all valuable knowledge and wisdom. The wise put down their own worth and opinion, learning and regarding opinion of YHVH in order to please Him.
